Darren at the Drive Thru

Darren at the Drive Thru is a comedy short following a troubled teen’s embarrassingly emotional trip to the drive-thru.

When Adian (director) came to me with her idea for Darren at the Drive Thru, I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of it; simple, but if executed correctly, it could be an incredibly effective story. As the Director of Photography and Editor, I had the opportunity to shape the film’s visual identity and bring its comedic beats to life.

It was an interesting editing challenge as well—for a project with essentially one primary actor talking to an inanimate object, it relied heavily on pacing and timing. If any of the emotional or comedic beats were off, the project could quickly fall flat, and Darren would lose all of his likability. It was an exciting challenge to balance the film’s fast-paced energy with its comedic timing and an incredible collaborative experience that ensured every shot and cut contributed to the storytelling and comedy of the short.

Adian’s testimonial can be found on the reviews tab.
