The Aces

The Aces is a short film following Andrew and Tyler, two old friends from rival families who reunite through an underground gambling and poker club.

Megan gave me the unforgettable privilege of being the sole editor for The Aces, and I couldn’t possibly turn her down (read that synopsis again—who could?). Working on this project was a blast and presented the crucial challenge of focusing deeply on two main characters, managing their screen time, and using viewer perception to shape and balance their emotional appeal as their character arcs evolved.

Above all else, this project reinforced the importance of professionalism and systemization in ensuring an effective and efficient editor to client collaboration process. Being a creative isn’t just about refining your skill set—it’s also about continuously improving your collaboration process to deliver the best possible work.
